Groundwater Basins

The water levels of the Central Basin Key Well has been generally declining over the past 14 years. Overlying this general trend are seasonal water level rises and drops in response to winter and storm water recharge (rise) and summer pumping and reduced recharge (drops).  The well is currently experiencing the normal water level rise during winter which is expected to continue until early April unless a drier-than-normal January through March causes water levels to drop sooner.

The Central Basin finished the 2010 water year with pumping amounts 0.5% below the 2009 levels.
